容易跌傷的女人 - Me too!!

Oh my God, I am 容易跌傷的女人too!! As a lot of people knew, Anna and I had a big move during the weekend. We were so exhausted yesterday cause we had the big move on Sun and we had to clean up the old apartment yesterday. Also all those unpacking stuffs wore me off a lot. I dragged myself to the bathroom for a shower before bed. After the long warm shower, I felt much better. I can’t believe what happened next!! I fell down right after I step out the tub!! The floor was so slippy!! When I fell, my back hit the toilet so hard. I was so sacred that I cracked my ribs. Fortunately I didn’t lock my door and Anna went in and helped me up from the floor. I found that I twisted my neck and hurt my ribs. I fell like I had a car crash!! I still can’t believe that I am 容易跌傷的女人 too!! I can keep Angie company la.

I found YOU again!

I found a lot of old stuffs during the moving process. I found few boxes of photos, which we took since we came to US. Every time I found a box, I will sit down and look through the photos (that’s why I still haven’t finished my packing. HAHAHA!!) It brought back a lot of good memories.

I found YOU in the photos!!! YOU ar!! I am talking about YOU, YOU, YOU and YOU ar!! I can’t imagine I know you guys for that long. A lot of memories play back in my mind while I am looking at those albums. I remember we all met in Grace Fellowship. I remember we were a bunch of crazy people. I remember we chatted in C’s dormitory in Chinese New Year and W said “loon ma ching sun” candy with his cute face. I remember we always took photos together with W (he just held the camera in his left hand and we would squeeze in to fit into the screen). I remember we went to W’s apartment to see the Philly’s night view. I remember we spent the mid-autumn in Art Museum with E, A, C and J. I remember we played make up all night in E’s home and fell asleep with the make up on (I got my first parking ticket there too!!). I remember we helped E in his lab feeding those flies. I remember we played tennis until 5am in the morning. I remember we went to skiing in the heavy snow day; my car spine in I-76 and a truck almost hit us. I remember to spend a night in the car talking to C about her emergency relationship issues. I remember C, A, and J went to my graduationand they also threw me a birthday surprise in C’s dorm (I still have the make a wish photo). I remember we loved going to that sushi buffet and had our birthday dinners there. I remember you guys called me L instead of E. I remember everything I did with YOU GUYS!!

Although we all are living in different places and we are so busy in our lives, still I know that we care each other very much. I wish I can go back to those moments and have you guys by my side one more time. You guys are always in my heart and you are my best friends forever!! I cherish our friendship every moment in my life.

YOU make my life wonderful!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday! Karen!!

I can’t believe I will be that tired.

I have to admit that I am getting older (but still pretty! HEHE). I can’t carry a lot of heavy stuffs like I used to. I can’t even control the Ikea cart with all those boxes in. I could do that for the last move (2.5 years ago). So finally we decided we just took Anna’s bed frame from Ikea and the other 10 boxes stuffs will be delivered to the new house on Friday. I said to Anna that if we both need to carry those things back, she better off kills me instead. I was so exhausted after the first day shopping. Then the second day was our cleaning day. As you all knew, I have a lot of glasses, I had to un-wrap them and clean them all before putting back to the cabinets. Also cleaning the bathroom were the worse. Anna’s house has 2.5 bathrooms and it is one of the main reason she likes this house. It is because we have our own bathrooms. On the other hand, we have to clean 3x bathroom than before. It was a nightmare. Sunday was a little bit better cause we had a dinner arrangement at night. So we didn’t move too many things to the new house. I am glad that we could get away for dinner cause we girls had a really wonderful time talking. Overall, TIRED!!

Ikea accessories

One thing drove us crazy during the weekend was Ikea accessories. As I said before, Anna bought her bed frame there. She was so excited to put it together, however she kept missing the screws!! She found out she missed a bunch of screws on Friday night so she went back to Ikea to get that. She told me that she was waiting for 20 minutes for those screws. Once again she was so excited when she came back to the new house. I didn’t go there with her cause I had to wait for her bed to come. Then she put the bed together and again she found out that she missed another 4 plastic stuffs. She was so mad cause she still couldn’t finish her bed. We were thinking we could buy that in Lows but they don’t carry those kind of stuffs. So we had to go back to Ikea on Sunday morning for those plastic things. Finally she completed her bed before the dinner. So I think if you guys ever buying stuffs from Ikea, check all the accessories before putting all the things together. It will save you all the frustration.

Everything is going smoothly for the new house

A lot of people asked us about the settlement on Friday. Thanks guys for all the support, caring, praying, phone call, e-mail etc. I am surprised that it went very well. We went to the new house for the pre-settlement inspection at 8am. After checking all the stuffs, we went back to the agent’s office for all the paper work. Everything was set before 11am. Then we stayed at the house for a bit. We videotape the whole house and it was fun. We went out for lunch in the Korean store cause we knew that it would be a long day ahead for us.

After the lunch, we went to the first furniture store and surprising, we got the sofa at that store. It was on sale and the color and type are what we both looking for. Then we went to the mattress store to get Anna’s bed. Again, we got that in the first shot. For the big stop, Ikea, we spent 4 hours there and we were tired like hell. Fortunately IT and BBT met us at the new house. They are excited as we are. We had a great time there and also we went out for dinner. Thanks for BBT suggestion; we had a pretty good dinner. However the service wasn’t that good at all, we didn’t even have the dessert. It was a long day and long weekend (cleaning) for us. We will have a long week this week as well because we have to get all the final things set for the big move on Sun. I really hope that everything will be settled soon.

Fondue

My sister and I had this Haagen-Dazs Fondue in HK. It is very sweet and we couldn’t finish all of the food at all. As a lot of people know, I am not a candy person. It was really too much for me. I think Angie and BL will like this a lot.

4 more days

Finally, Anna’s house settlement will be done by this Friday. We are very excited to see the new house again. We finally opened most of the utilities this morning and will need to take care of the existing utilities next week. Kind of exhausted on the packing. We are moving 95% of stuffs to the new house but we still need to buy a new sofa, Anna’s bed and also some shelves for the garage. Also we will buy some aro beds for the girls to stay over. Hope that everything will be ready soon.

Discipline

I have more control on my studying this week. Since I already took my desk apart for moving, I have to study somewhere else. I go to work at 7 am and then off work at 6:30 pm. After that I will stay in the office until 9 pm for my studying. I also will go to Barnes and Noble close by home if I leave work early. I hope I can keep it up. I just got through half topic and I will have four and half more to go. There are a lot of things that I haven’t even looked at. So hopefully I can catch up more in these two and half months.

PS I finally saw my dentist yesterday for my night guard. I am glad that they can fix it instead of replacing it. I hate doing that mold thing cause it is disgusting. I did that twice last time. I should have that back soon. Hope it will last longer.

Auto Show

I heard about the Auto Show in Philly this morning from the radio. The show will be open to public tomorrow. Philly always hosts it every year. As some people know, Anna and I like car very much. However, we both have never gone to the show all these years. After I heard about the show, I talked to Anna about that. We are going to join the crowd this year!! Since we will have breakfast in Chinatown and pick up the boxes in Center City (thanks for Amanda) tomorrow, so we decided to get there in the morning. I bet it will be all crowded in the afternoon. Hope we can bit the crowd!! I will post some photos and also my comments on the show later.

Cracked my night guard already!!

I think I am under a lot of pressure lately. It is because I bite so hard at my night guard (hard plastic mold) at night, it has a big crack already!! I just got that before my trip back to HK cause I’ve been having TMJ for a year now. Every time I am under a lot of stress, I will bite my teeth so hard while I am sleeping. It sores my joints and I can’t open my month after that. So the dentist got me a night guard that I have to bite on every night. Even I wear the night guard in these couple of weeks, I still feel sore at my joints!! I can’t imagine how much it will hurt if I don’t have that on at night. The night guard has been scratched so badly and the crack is extending. The dentist told me that it could be last for a couple of year but it doesn’t even survive in couple of months!! I bet I will need to get another one pretty soon. I hope that my insurance will share that with me again but I kind of doubt that. I have to see if Prince Frog can play golf with me sin so I can release some of my stress. HEHE!!

My drafter is leaving

One of our drafters is leaving today. I feel sad to let him go since he is my best drafter in the whole office. He knows what I need for my plans and he can clean them up even I didn’t mark up. Although I feel sad about that, still I am glad that he found a better job. Oh…. I can’t imagine what it will be like in here now since we keep losing a lot of best drafters in these 6 months. I hope we won’t get someone fresh from school la cause I don’t want to be writing in red all the time ar. I don’t mind the teaching but I hate red marking the plan. If the office manager can’t find anyone, then all the Engineers here will need to do their own drafting, which I will be extremely busy later. It really gives me a headache now.

Cooking

As I saw the posts from Angie and BL talking about cooking, I used to cook a lot. Baking, Chinese food, American food and also Seafood were my bests. I used to try a lot of different food in restaurants and I could modify a little bit and cook them at home. A lot of people thought that my mom must be a great cook and I learn from her. HEHE!! Actually it is not the case cause I learnt my cooking here. My mom is a great cook after she married my dad because my dad is the pickiest person in the world about food. Even though I didn’t learn cooking from her, I still called my mom and dad up about cooking sometime (special when I preparing the exotic food such as eel!! HEHE)

For my first and second school years here, I lived in a host family. She is a single American and she always cooks American food (cakes, pasta etc). I loved to stand around when she was baking because the smell was so great (as BL said, no better smell other than banana bread even though I am not a big fans of banana bread). So I started my American cooking at that time. I always believe that cooking is not difficult as long as you can cook for your love one. Just a little bit of observation and creation will help you to make a nice meal. I also think that the chatting during the meals does make the meal even better.

However, I haven’t been cooking a big dinner for a while cause I can’t have a lot of food in these days due to my health problem. I am kind of giving up the heavy cooking lately. I do cook but they are all simple easy meals. Also we have 2 iron chiefs in EF so I just help them for the preparation instead of actually cooking the meals.

Since we are moving, I found a lot of cookbooks that I bought them way back. It brought me back a lot of memories. I miss them a lot. I talked to Anna one day that I want to cook a big dinner for the girls after we move into the new house. Also we will host a big house warming party when everything is settled. She agrees as long as it doesn’t affect my health. I hope my cooking skill will not be rusty at that time la.
