Diamond Honor Award (Water Resource Category)

I just got the news from the PM that one of my projects received the 2007 ACEC Diamond Honor Award in Water Resource Category. I am very surprised to hear that. It was a big railroad project (5.8 miles new constructed railroad inside the mountain). I’d been involved in this project from day 1 till the end. I remember that I was always in the office working like hell trying to get the construction plan going. Surprisingly, the railroad company can construct the whole section within a year. There was a lot of difficultly during the design phase. The railroad is located inside the mountain so the construction crew will need to blast 50 feet depth or more inside the mountain. The railroad tack seems like running inside a tunnel with sky opening at the top. I wasn’t been able to join the opening ceremony since I was in UT for another project. I am glad that it pays off after all those horrible working hours. Just want to share my happiness with you all.
